Sleep Foundations Mini Workshop
Get the know-how in layering long lasting sleep foundations to achieve better sleep for your baby
Welcome and congratulations on taking this step to regaining more sleep in your household, and make sure your baby is getting the rest they need to grow and develop!
Here is the sleep foundations mini workshop {it's 20 minutes in length} to get you started towards better sleep. BUT before you watch it, let me share with you why I love sleeping babies in a dark room if you're struggling to get your baby to fall asleep and stay asleep.
In the first three weeks, your baby has a store of maternal melatonin, which makes them sleepy and allows them to sleep in almost any environment. After the 3-week mark, the stores start to wear off, and you will notice your baby becoming more alert and often harder to settle.
Around this time, darkness becomes an important sleep environment factor for settling and resettling your baby. A dark sleep environment allows your baby to produce their melatonin by enabling serotonin to be converted into melatonin, the sleepy hormone.
